beanpYe is a funky accessories online boutique that specializes in handcrafting daring pieces for people who like authentic fashion. The 2012 Spring/Summer "Mosaic Metallica" collection focuses on copper, gold, brass and silver hues interwoven with whimsical patterns inspired by the tropical jungles of Samoa & Fiji.
beanpYe creator, Sabrina Thompson (www.iamsabrina.com), started experimenting with jewelry-making when she was a junior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She would often take worn clothing or scraps of other pieces of jewelry to reinvent whimsical designs. After gradation, she moved to New York City to work as a television producer and educator. With much hard work and dedication, she teamed up with a Brooklyn-based branding company, www.Sundree.tv, in 2005 and created her jewelry company, beanpye. The company name is derived from her childhood nickname because an uncle once said her puffy cheeks resembled freshly baked bean pies coming from an oven.
beanpYe donates 10% of all sales to buy school supplies for NYC public high schools.
